An energy saving, management and efficiency action plan should introduce the energy savings and efficiency measures proposed in a previous energy study or audit. The action plan is developed into technical actions and management actions. It requires commitment and effort on training, maintenance, improvement of operation and maintenance, ,technology upgrades and more.

 -Retrofit of older facilities
-Automate operations
 -Install high-performance thermal production systems

Management actions:
-Information and communication
-Analysis of the consumption of all services
-Forecast of energy consumption
-Energy awareness
-Supervision of electric bills and supply conditions


Energy strategy:

The implementation of the Energy Efficiency Plan and the implementation of the recommended actions will result in significant energy savings and cost savings.
The cost-benefit analysis of improvements helps to make decisions based on viability of the projects. Some of the measures proposed may have cross-effects with other measures that are alternatives for the same application. Selected energy efficiency projects should focus on the most energy-intensive users.
On the other hand, it is suggested to carry out simultaneous retrofit projects in different phases with general interventions on the different technical facilities or departments of the organization.

The general approach begins with the immediate implementation of zero or low cost measures in order to reduce energy waste and adopt good practices in energy use. Highly recommend implement monitoring and automation in the early stages and later install new efficient systems in HVAC or lighting.
The course of action must take into account the principles of the “pyramid” of energy. That is, first of all, efforts must be focused on reducing energy losses and reducing energy demand. After reducing thermal demand, lower electrical and thermal power can be used to meet energy needs. This pyramid of the energy saving plan in any organization has its foundation on the reduction of energy demand, followed by the implementation of projects to improve energy efficiency and increase performance in facilities. And at the peak of efficiency optimization, the integration of the renewable energy sources.


Management, commissioning and monitoring:

The leading responsibility for the success of an energy efficiency project is the energy manager staff. The implementation of the projects is scheduled in successive phases following of the action plan. Monitoring would be an important issue into the long-term energy efficiency project in order to measure and verify the savings achieved.

In regard to the monitoring of the Plan, a series of key performance indicators should be used. These consumption ratios allow tracking of consumption and time comparison. This programme should be reviewed regularly and all departments should be kept informed of its progress and results achieved.

A comprehensive energy efficiency investment project must be profitable and economically viable. The expected results indicate that the implementation of the  investment project generates value and produces the expected benefits. A sustainability project add value to the company.
